behindrobotics.com ("Behind Robotics," "we," "us," or "our") publishes news, analysis, and a curated database covering the robotics, drone, and embodied-AI industry. This policy explains what information we collect — from visitors to this site, and, separately, from public sources for our database and editorial content — why we collect it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide directly:

• Newsletter signup — when you subscribe, we collect your email address and, optionally, your name. Signups are processed through our content and membership platform, which is a Ghost-hosted CMS service, and you'll receive a confirmation/login link and the newsletter itself.
• Contact form — when you use our contact form, we collect your first and last name, email address, company (optional), the topic you select, and your message, so we can respond to you.

Information collected automatically:

• Standard server/access logs — like most websites, our hosting and content-delivery infrastructure automatically logs technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring page, and timestamps. This is used for security, abuse prevention, and understanding aggregate site usage — not to identify individual visitors.
• Cookies and analytics — see Section 3 below.

We do not collect financial account numbers, government ID numbers, or other sensitive personal data through this site, and we do not knowingly collect more than the fields listed above.

2. Personal data in our company database and editorial content

Separately from the visitor data above, Behind Robotics compiles and publishes an industry database and editorial content about companies in the robotics, drone, and embodied-AI sector. In doing so, we may reference a limited amount of personal data about individuals connected to those companies — most commonly the names and professional titles of founders, executives, or company spokespeople.

This data is drawn from public sources such as company websites, press releases, funding and investment announcements, regulatory filings, and news coverage — not collected from those individuals directly, and we don't typically hold contact details, financial information, or any other personal data about them beyond what's already public and relevant to their professional role. If you're named in our database or editorial content and believe our information about you is inaccurate or out of date, contact us using the details in Section 8 and we'll review it.

3. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar local-storage technologies to run the site and understand how it's used: essential ones needed for basic functionality (such as remembering your cookie preference itself), and optional ones for analytics and embedded third-party content (such as YouTube videos) once you've accepted them. When you first visit, a banner lets you accept or reject non-essential cookies; you can change your choice at any time by clearing the site's local storage in your browser or by contacting us.

4. Third-party services we use

Operating this site involves a small number of third-party services, each of which processes a limited, specific set of data:

• Ghost — our content management and newsletter/membership platform, a Ghost-hosted CMS service. Processes newsletter subscriber name/email and may set its own cookies for members.
• Finnhub — powers the live market-quote ticker and Investment Monitor pricing data shown on this site. We query Finnhub's public market-data API directly from your browser to fetch stock quotes; no personal information about you is sent to Finnhub as part of this.
• YouTube (Google) — embedded video content may set its own cookies and collect viewing data when you play a video, governed by Google's own privacy policy.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

5. How we use information

• To operate, maintain, and improve the site and its data/analytics features
• To send the newsletter you signed up for, and to respond to messages sent through our contact form
• To compile, curate, and publish our industry database, editorial content, and market/investment analytics
• To detect, prevent, and address technical issues, abuse, or unauthorized automated access

6. How long we keep information

Contact form submissions are retained only as long as needed to respond to and resolve your inquiry. Newsletter subscriber data is retained until you unsubscribe. Server/access logs are retained for a limited period for security purposes and then routinely deleted or aggregated. Personal data appearing in our company database and editorial content (Section 2) is retained for as long as it remains accurate and relevant, and is corrected or removed on request.

7. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you're located, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict certain processing, or to withdraw consent (such as unsubscribing from our newsletter, which you can always do via the unsubscribe link in any email, or changing your cookie choice as described in Section 3). This site is intended for a general business and industry audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. International visitors

We and our service providers (including Ghost, Finnhub, and Google/YouTube) may process information in countries other than your own, including the United States. By using this site, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in such countries.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the site evolves. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do; material changes will be noted on this page.
